Soundu

Terms of Service

Last updated October 4, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Soundu, which is run by an individual developer (“we”). By creating an account or using the site you accept them, together with the Privacy Policy.

At a glance

  • You must be 18 or older. Soundu is free, and we may change or stop it.
  • What you create is yours. You need the right to use any text or pages you import, and you keep your course for your class.
  • AI and generated audio can be wrong — check pinyin, translations, meanings and audio before you teach with them.
  • Don’t misuse the site, other people’s work, or the built-in AI.

1.Who can use Soundu

You must be at least 18 years old. Soundu is meant for university and adult language classes and for people learning on their own. If you use it for a school or other organization, you confirm you may accept these terms for your own use there.

2.Your account

Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at binyanglc@gmail.com if you think someone else is using your account. One account is for one person. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3.The service

Soundu is free. We may add, change or remove features, set limits — such as how many built-in AI requests each account can make per day — or stop the service. We will try to give notice before anything that takes your work away, so you have time to save it. We don’t promise the site will always be available or free of errors.

4.Your content

You keep ownership of what you create and upload — texts, word lists, translations, recordings. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you share it with, and process it as the features you use require: for example, generating pinyin or audio, or sending it to an AI service when you ask for AI help. This permission is only for running Soundu and ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you import or type in, such as textbook pages or articles. Courses are private to the people you invite; use copyrighted material only as far as you are allowed to with your class.

5.Courses, teachers and students

The person who creates a course controls it and can invite co-teachers and students, change their roles, and remove them. Teachers can see their students’ activity in that course, as described in the Privacy Policy. Students can leave a course at any time in Settings.

6.Acceptable use

Do not:

  • break the law, or upload material you have no right to share;
  • harass anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent material;
  • put other people’s personal or sensitive information into lessons without their permission;
  • try to get into accounts, courses or data that aren’t yours, or get around the site’s limits — including the built-in AI’s daily limits;
  • use bots or scripts to make requests, copy the site’s content in bulk, or overload it;
  • upload anything harmful, such as malware;
  • use the AI features in ways that break the AI providers’ own rules (for Google’s Gemini, its prohibited use policy).

7.AI features and generated content

Pinyin, vowel marks, translations, word meanings, transcriptions of imported pages and generated audio are produced by software and AI, and they can be wrong. Check them before you teach with them. When you use your own AI key, your agreement with that AI company also applies.

9.Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk; where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and let you save your work.

10.No warranty

Soundu is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it is fit for a particular purpose, accurate, or uninterrupted, to the extent the law allows.

11.Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, and our total liability for any claim about Soundu is limited to US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

12.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere whose law gives you rights that can’t be waived, those rights still apply.

13.Changes to these terms

We will post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Using Soundu after that means you accept the new terms.
